The not-so-new agency on the block

There’s a new advertising and PR agency on the Calthorpe Estate following the relocation of Shaw & Underwood to The Cloisters on George Road. As the oldest established communications agency in Birmingham, the Shaw & Underwood name is known to many (hence the retention of the name by the current team of Directors), with the company having worked for clients throughout the UK and overseas for over 60 years.

The move to the Cloisters is only a short hop from our previous home on Bristol Street but it has brought a number of benefits and the opportunity for a new look to the agency.

Managing Director, Simon Trott, said – “We are loving the new premises and are already feeling at home after only a few weeks.  It’s not only the offices which have been refreshed – rather than focusing just on developing new corporate identities for our clients, this time we’ve looked at ourselves with a new logo which we feel represents where we are now but also draws from a history of which we are very proud.”

Simon and his fellow Directors Lynn Prescott and Chris Twigger collectively provide wide ranging experience in PR, advertising, design, digital communications and exhibitions.  Chris took the opportunity to meet other companies on the Calthorpe Estate at a recent Calthorpe Business Alliance (CBA) networking lunch at the Edgbaston Golf Club and commented –“It was a really vibrant event and an excellent opportunity to meet our new neighbours.  It’s an interesting time to be moving onto the Calthorpe Estate, particularly given the exciting plans for the Village which I’m sure will help to further strengthen the appeal of Edgbaston as a business location.”
