There is a lot of chatter (pun completely intentional) about the role that AI can play in the world of PR. Some are even talking about chatbots like ChatGPT sounding the death knell of the public relations profession. Setting aside the moral question of effectively plagiarising what has gone before, as well as the Terminator-like world-ending scenarios being sounded in some quarters at the mere mention of AI, how worried should a PR practitioner be at their potential to be replaced by M3GAN? (The office would certainly be a more dangerous place if new PR recruits started acting up like the eponymous ‘bot in Amazon Prime’s latest horror offering).
With the proliferation of online media you could be forgiven for thinking that print is on the wane. In reality, what is actually happening is that printed promotional material, particularly when it is used creatively, is increasingly providing the opportunity to cut through the digital information overload that we are all experiencing.
We recently created a CGI video for our client McAlpine, the market-leading manufacturer of plumbing products, that demonstrates to an international audience how to install a channel drain. Our design team successfully created a video that shows clearly how the product is installed and works - without any need for words – ideal for communicating with an audience that isn’t necessarily English-speaking.
Southern Manufacturing and Electronics Exhibition took place in Farnborough on 9th to 11th February 2016. The exhibition is the UK’s largest regional manufacturing technology, electronics and subcontracting exhibition. Two of our clients, Aalco and Sapa took part as exhibitors and we were responsible for their stands.
The Aerospace & Defence Meetings in Warsaw, Poland start on May 11th 2015. The industry event is a two and a half day programme which consists of one-to-one meetings, workshops, seminars and key conferences. This event differs from other exhibitions as it is a bespoke, business-to-business matchmaking platform that offers opportunities for networking in the aerospace and defence sector. Shaw & Underwood has two clients taking part at the exhibition this year, Amari Aerospace and Wilsons Metals.
